Project Life - September

75% of the year gone!!! Project Life 365 for September - my faves:

Day 1: You today - a piggy back down Narducci St - thanks for the pic Suz :-)

Day 4: Shadow - That's me about to go down (and up) those bloody stairs again!

Day 5: The Ultimate - Won't be able to top this feeling if we can get him to ride a bike! Looks like the horse riding is paying off?

Day 6: Water - and LOTS of it - even more now - wonder if it will go over?

Day 10: Stress - Just what I needed - yoghurt everywhere in the morning.

Day 12: Pointy - Tamara - my first Samantha Wills ring.

Day 13: Partial - to a slice of cheesecake! Lime, Macadamia, Avocado - Dairy Free/Gluten Free - but amazeballs! Thanks Tones and Quirky cooking!

Day 15: Currently Reading  - CPA materials - boo!!

Day 17: Texture - soft, rough, smooth...part of my fruit and veg haul from the Farmers Markets.

Day 18: Ornate - Oh it's Tamara's box with ornate carving! Have two of these bad boys now!!

Day 20: Entrance - to hell...it feels like that - lots of work, lots of study, not enough internet shopping.

Day 21: Nobody sees this - well I guess they do now - Lachy moved into the spare room and has been hiding things in my already overflowing spare closet! (Yes - that fan is upside down!)

Day 22, 25 and 26: Skilled, Crooked, Home Away - Got behind...what a week! This is me, skilled at taking closed lips selfies to disguise my crooked tooth in my home away from home...the bloody car!

Day 23: Hiding - emotionally and physically exhausted this week - can I just stay.in.bed?

Day 24: Grey - No... I think its just the reflection from the flash? Don't panic!

Day 27: Worn out - new baby arrived - Bertha the fascinator too good to just be worn out - kept her on for half the morning at home too. She'll make her 'out' debut at Railway Stakes!! Can't wait!!

Day 28: Denim - These jeans were my subtle transition to print jeans that I promised myself I would wear this winter! Once I got used to these I plucked the courage to wear by crazy print ones - Will calls them PJ's!

Day 29: Neighbour - Did I mention Tamara had a new neighbour? Tamara....meet Jewel...now what colour next....aqua or yellow?

Three months to go!!!

A week in the life of....with a difference (or maybe not?)

So last week I was thinking ahead and wondering what to blog about this week. I decided to do a week in the life of Miranda but make it a picture blog of my week - all the boring stuff captured dutifully by my BFF the iPhone. Then I realised that wouldn't really differentiate it from any other blog or week - so that's where I left the idea.

Now I'm stuck on what to blog though so I thought I would challenge myself to just submit a quick what I did this week with....wait for it....WORDS ONLY! Not one picture, not even a sneaky selfie. This will be tough and no doubt a big disappointment to those of you who hang out to see my selfies!

So here's my week:

Monday: Boys at school... Ems in daycare...Kris at work. I'm supposed to be doing a bookkeeping job, then parent help, then a bit of tax work. Bookkeeping job got rescheduled, parent help got cancelled - yay for me! I had sore hamstrings from my walk on Sunday (that will teach me to have a week off) so I decided to go for a walk to loosen them off before work. So I set off early for the dam and had to climb the stairs 5 times to get back on track with my stair challenge. Conquered that, walked home and flopped on the couch for a bit. Big mistake! When I tried to get up my hamstrings were even sorer! I should add that I'd done about 130 squats too the day before as I set myself a goal of squatting 10 times before I hit the dreaded "F" for Facebook! So the rest of Monday involved sooking (lots of it) and two (yes two) baths before I picked the kids up.

Tuesday: Still sore and sooking (doesn't sound like me does it?) Ems and I went to the café for a quick coffee with Shari, then off to physio with Lachy in Bunbury, then to the Farmers markets, then to horse riding, then home to take him back to school. Then home to unpack shopping for 20 minutes then back to school to pick boys up! Tuesdays annoy the crap out of me - feels like I'm in the bloody car all day. Then I mopped the floors in the arvo (yeehah) and did a bit of tax work.

Wednesday: Dropped the boys to school, then Kris and Ems to Tyrepower then went to a bookkeeping job. Then a quick catchup with Stace, Rory and Sammy and on to home just in time for dinner! Tax work after dinner and crawled into bed about 1pm!

Thursday: Boys to school, Ems to daycare, off to another bookkeeping job then home just in time to get kids. Took them to café for arvo tea and they weren't cooking hot chips! Was probably a blessing in disguise because I would have eaten too many for sure! Met Kris to get some paperwork signed then home and straight back in to the tax work! Finished up at midnight so had a midnight bath to ease the neck pain. My gosh it was so hot I thought I might spontaneously combust? Didn't get to sleep until about 2am because I couldn't cool down!

Friday: Where do I start? Could not get my eyes open. Lachy spilled his entire milo on the kitchen floor and sat at the bench screaming in agony over it. So I cleaned that up and crawled back to bed. Decided I would go to café for a relaxing tea before the Post Office opened - then head home to start work. Soon got distracted with emails and followed up some tax stuff and then realised it was time to get in the car! Hadn't brushed Ems hair so quickly did that and got her in car. You can always tell what our morning has been like based on her hair do. Managed to shut her door with the garage hanging ball thing inside it so then I had to reconnect the garage door thingy to get it to open properly. Crisis avoided - quickly raced back inside to get boys gold coins for footy day and got them to school just in the nick of time. On to daycare and I had forgotten Ems bag! So raced home to grab that and noticed I hadn't even packed it yet!! Then my fuel light came on so figured I may as well get fuel on the way. Finally made it to daycare and then pulled up to the Post Office with only 3 mins til opening time! So no relaxing cup of tea after all! Then instead of working I decided to try on my ASOS goodies! One's a bit big (go me), one a bit small (go me) but loved them both and took some selfies and distributed to all those that care for Miranda selfies...if anyone wants to be added to the list let me know! Finally I'm in the office - have my new PDF software installed so I can stop fucking around with the scanner, am about to make a donation to the Australian Twin Registry because I think twins are bloody amazing and then I have to start a new tax job!

Saturday & Sunday have yet to arrive but here's the plan: STUDY STUDY STUDY - I'm miserable already!!

I hope I can get enough done to take some time off to watch the Dockers though - go Freo!

And just because I'm 6 climbs up the dam stairs behind, 90 hours of CPA study behind and owe Facebook about 100 squats from last night and this morning I may as well fail this challenge too? If I did have to share a pic for the week that was it may contain any of these images!

12WBT - The update

Well - here I sit on the eve of Week 5 ready to share my first months progress. The cold hard honest truth is....

I've had the weekend 'off' and am currently enjoying a cold glass of coke and some BBQ Samboys!

In all honesty I did have a glass of coke last weekend too so my level of dedication (as suspected) has not been perfect.

But here's the good news - in general I'm on track!

The weekend before the 12WBT started I was totally off the rails! Ate embarrassing amounts of all 5 food groups just to be sure I wouldn't miss anything and enjoyed several beers and a few sneaky wines whilst admiring my breasts. I knew they'd be the first to go :-(

Week one I shat it in! Lost all the alcohol bloat and made ALL good choices! And took my first exercise selfie in a while....of course!!

Week 2 I was already starting to have doubts (after consuming 6 jelly beans at 14 bloody calories each) Had to resort to my old habits to pull off a loss on Wednesday morning.
 - Shave legs and underarms and get my hair thinned!
 - Enjoy some Tue evening 'cardio' as the 'last chance training'!
 - Wake up early and wee (attempt a poo) then weigh
 - Weigh again and if lower take the number and run!
 - If second weight higher try for third times a charm!

Week 3 was all going to plan until we went away for the weekend and I drank my bodyweight in CC & Dry and EB. Gained 200g that week but it was soooo much fun!

Week 4 was over Fathers day and we went away again - this time to Pingelly which always means food food food. Not to mention a sneaky Jacks and Coke with my father in law so I was amazed to still pull off a 500g loss!

And then to this weekend which I gave myself 'off' again to catch up with friends and enjoy some good food and wine. Have no idea how much damage I've done on the scales but I guess it will all catch up with me on Wednesday.

Weekends are fast filling up between now and October so I will need to be extra dedicated to stay on track! I am a million hours behind on study and am having a lock in for the next two weekends so fingers crossed I can learn to study with water and fruit as opposed to my usual coke and chocolate!

Exercise wise most days are quick walks on the treadmill while the kids eat their breakfast but twice a week I've been managing to get out of the house. I've set myself a challenge to increase the number of times I climb the stairs at the dam as each week progresses. So during the week I did my 4 times up the stairs - feeling good! Getting very used to this place...

On weekends I'm working on increasing the km counts in preparation for my 15km walk for PMH in October. So next weekend I have to tackle 13km and I really hope the sun is shining...I've been drenched almost every outside walk the last four weeks! Here's an outdoors 'dry' selfie I managed to sneak in last week :-)

The food has been amazing and the kids are doing really well at eating whatever we eat! Well the boys are - Ems barely eats dinner these days but I'll deal with that when I have the energy. The Beef & Guinness Pie has been the favourite to date - can't wait to make that again.

Alas, the BBQ chips have vanished and I have one mouthful of coke left before it's back to reality and time to undo the weekends damage.

Final stats at Week 4: Down 3.6 yet still managing to enjoy myself!

Will check in again around Week 8 and share a selfie or two ;-)

Bodd Boys Racing - Bringing out my inner revhead

Confession  - I've never had even the slightest interest in race cars. So when we got a kid free weekend and decided to head to Boddington to watch cars race around paddocks I will admit to being a bit reluctant. But in the spirit of popping more cherries I decided to give it a go.

I was keen to take Lacey out for a spin but couldn't fit her in the car so I had to settle for just being a spectator. We arrived mid afternoon and settled in on the hill to watch the action. I'm not sure if I'm a closet petrol head or it was just the CC & Dry in the sunshine adding to the ambience but it was heaps of fun!

Wee stops were interesting - I had to learn to drive the Polaris so we could go down to the river when nature called. And when it was time to head up the hill to camp the night I got the Polaris duty again as the wagon had to be piggy backed over the river crossing.

Rory loved me taking his picture all day!

Billie and I hit the loo (Again!)

We (well Kris - I was too busy drinking and being social) set up camp in the back of the wagon and headed down to the main shed to have some more drinks. Then in my wisdom I decided to take over the BBQ and served up raw sausages to the troops. Go Nigella ;-)

Dinner and presentations over it was time for the fun to begin...lots more CC and some EB for old times sake! I won $400 shooting empties into the bin but still haven't managed to collect my winnings. And I sold our VZ wagon too - whoops! Guessing this time next year it will be fitted out with a roll bar and hooning around paddocks? After the shenanigans wound down we headed up the hill and camped in the wagon for one last time before handover! God she's been good to me that car!

Sunday morning was a bit tough - lack of sleep and too many drinks meant my spectating efforts consisted of snuggling up in a blankie on the hill next to the fire. The cars were dropping like flies on Sunday morning - and I was ever so thankful. The night before I had agreed to have a drive but the more the booze wore off the more scared I was becoming. Thank god there were no cars left running so I got to pass on the hot laps!

Eventually it was time to head home and back to reality (kids!) I needed a lot more than Windex to get the mud out of my hair and clothes! That Sunday arvo shower was amazeballs! Can't wait to head back though - any excuse to pull on the purple wellies again!

The best pic I got of my Wellies - perhaps I should have taken more selfies?
