2013 - Popping cherries - one dream at a time

Well 2013 has certainly gotten off to a flying start! I shall call it the year of the popping cherry I think? I've finally gone horse riding, been in a pie off, gone home in a trolley and now the piece de resistance....I just made sushi for the first time...EVER.

I was going to blog about my amazing kid free weekend but nothing more amazing than the sushi making episode has happened yet so bare with me while I share the amazing experience with you.

Step 1: Pour a glass of wine

Step 2: Cook the rice in the microwave (Do not, I repeat DO NOT waste your time stirring a pot on the stove!)

Step 3: Clear some room on the bench (not an easy task when your wog husband is in the middle of making lasasgne for this years birthday feast!) Lasagne...pfft...move over wog boy - I have sushi to make!

Step 4: Pour another glass of wine

Step 5:Add sushi vinegar to cooked rice. What the fuck is sushi vinegar - I'll just splash a touch of white vinegar on yeah?

Step 6: Lay sushi sheet on bamboo mat

Step 7: Spread rice over sheet

Step 8: Wipe brow and have a big swig of wine - this is nerve wrecking stuff! Check Facebook and Instragram - Pinterest even if you're that way inclined? Then move on to Step 9

Step 9: Spread desired topping

Step 10: Roll baby roll and wet the end of the sheet to seal

Step 11: Cut with a wet knife

Step 12: Bon Appetite  - Dinner is served! (Meanwhile he's still rolling lasagne sheets!)

And in other amazing cherry popping news - this morning I popped my frozen onion cherry volunteering at a sausage sizzle! Why has no one bothered to tell me that you can buy onions from the freezer section - I can guarantee this will NOT be happening again...

Over and out - lets see if I can get something more exciting happening on this kid free weekend...hiccup!!
